Through research in the well known “anti-aging” hormone DHEA, a derivative of it, 7-keto DHEA, was discovered.

About 7-keto DHEA:

7 Keto DHEA is a DHEA metabolite. Unlike DHEA, the 7 keto does not convert into sex hormones. When taking normal DHEA it can be used as a form of hormone replacement therapy to increase sex drive, muscle size and strength, and energy. In one study those taking 7-keto lost 6.34 lbs more with a drop in 1.34% BF after 8 weeks over the placebo group. The results were comparable to most other respected fat loss drugs or supplements on the market.

There seems to be no dangerous side effects. According to studies, 7 keto DHEA is safe long term and in doses even as high as 140 grams.
